According to MJ Simpson, casting news were imminent. He wrote the 21st january on his website : "I learned this evening that certain contracts have now been signed, and this is born out by Martin Freeman's official site finally confirming his involvement. Furthermore at least two more major roles are expected to be announced within 48 hours". We're still waiting but it shouldnt take too long. Still, nothing has been anounced officially.

But he then wrote today that : "It looks like the formal movie casting announcement hoped for this weekend is still a week or two away. This seems to be because one of the lead roles remains uncast and the producers want to announce the principal quartet of Arthur, Ford, Zaphod and Trillian all together." Does MJ type too fast?

At least on Martin's official website you can read "Martin To Play Arthur Dent!
...after being officially offered the role last week. Rumour and speculation is rife on the internet at the moment. I can't say at this point whether Martin has signed the contract, but there seems little doubt now that he will play Arthur Dent in The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy movie."

Still according to MJ, typing in 'www.hitchhikers.com', 'www.hitchhikers-movie.com' or 'www.hitchhikers-movie.com' gives you a page with a logo. Interestingly, 'www.hitchhikersguidemovie.com' takes you to Disney forthcoming movie page. I couldnt resist and used the pink dont panic logo on the frontpage of my website for fun. And as noticed John Duckworth, a fan, in an email he sent me "interestingly, if you look at the source for www.hitchhikers-movie.com 'http://www.hitchhikers-movie.com' , you'll see that the Don't Panic image, comes directly from douglasadams.com"
